r j What have you learnt about visual graphics today? How will you use this new knowledge to help you with your class presentations. I have learnt the principles of design and applied it into the poster that we need to improve on today. I find that the principles really help us a lot in redesigning the new poster. Also, if we did follow the steps properly and there is enough time to complete, I am sure we will do a better work. Due to shortage of time, we do not have time to check if anything in the poster was wrong and most importantly it can be less wordy after the improvement. In visual graphics, it is important that the content in the propaganda like advertisements, poster and articles needs to be in a flow. If not, it will confuse people as there is no focal point on it. People maybe mislead with some other information in the propaganda. The colours used in the visual graphics are the most important of all. We must match the colour well. For example, the background and the font’s colour, we need to match it well in the sense that it doesn’t blend in with each other. If not we could not read the words. Also, we need to do some research online for which colour would be pleasant looking for the eyes and eye catching at the same time. Then, the contents and words used for the advertisement for example, needs to put in flow and not too wordy. People would not have interest to look at them if they find that there’s too much things to read. We need to put in relevant things for the advertisement and emphasize on the important points that’s all. So for today’s task in redesigning poster, we used what we have learnt as a group about principles of design and apply it to our poster. We chose different shades of green for our background which is actually applying Rhythm, where we used same shapes but in different tones of green to enhance the background. Followed by using white colour fonts, so that in this way it is visible to the targeted audience as its outstanding with the dark tones of green background. Then, in the last part we added arrange the contents in a flow that is from left to the right. However due to some editing problem, we could not move some of the contents in a way which it actually flows well. I feel that my group have done a great job in the end. With Hassan’s help of the knowledge of design, it actually makes the task easier for us to complete. When he is doing the poster, we stood by him and give opinions on where to put the pictures and contents, giving opinion in which tone of green will be more suitable. It’s a good experience to learn about the application of principles of design into poster designing. 0 comments |
